getting started with racing? You've come to the right place!

Getting
started racing in AMA District 12 of Ohio is easy and more
importantly, it's fun! District 12 offers motocross racing
classes for all ages and abilities of riders from beginners
to professional at each event.
To
race District 12 events, riders must be an AMA and District
12 member. Both the national AMA membership and District 12
membership can be purchased at any District 12 event
at the sign-up area.

Sign
up for racing normally begins several hours before the racing
event. Following sign up, each group of racers will be allowed
practice sessions on the race track. Once practice is completed
the race program will begin. Please refer to the individual
tracks' information on the Tracks page for more information
on specific race date starting times and other track specifics.

Many
of our District 12 tracks also offer weekly open practice
sessions for riders throughout the year. Please visit each
tracks' individual website for more information on open practice.
Our
group of AMA District 12 race promoters host over 70 motocross
and harescramble racing events throughout each yearly season,
which runs approximately from March through the middle of
November.

| At
each racing event, the top finishing racers receive awards (trophies
and/or plaques, money for Pro class) at the event. All PeeWee
racers receive awards regardless of their finishing position
as support and |
|
|
encouragement
for their accomplishments.
District
12 racers are also awarded District points, which are accumulated
for year-end or series awards. These awards are presented
to racers at our annual District 12 Rider Awards Banquet and
dinner, normally held in the off season during February.
AMA
District 12 was formed in 1999 to provide Ohio motocross racers
and their families with quality tracks, superior AMA sanctioned**
events, awards, and to

promote a friendly and family atmosphere at all of our events.
Each District 12 event is staffed with knowledgable and friendly
personnel.
Through
our efforts to bring quality racing back to Northern Ohio,
District 12 is gaining the reputation of being the leading
motocross racing organization in the Mid West.
**AMA
is the American Motorcyclist Association, which is the only
national organization that works to protect and benefit the
rights of motorcyclists of all disciplines. Everyone that
rides a motorcycle, whether it be on or off road, should belong
to the AMA.
